Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed,
    for his compassions never fail.

It is really easy to get devoured by your own to-do list.  While having a plan isn’t a bad thing, I think we sometimes get eaten alive by our own expectations and perfectionism.  As Christians, we talk a lot about grace, but I don’t think we’re so good at extending that grace to ourselves. 

I’m not talking about justifying flagrant sin or general jerkiness.  I’m talking about the expectations that we put on ourselves, some of which may or may not be reasonable.

If God is good at extending us grace for our imperfections, why are we so bad at it?
