You couldn’t relive your life, skipping the awful parts, without losing what made it worthwhile.  You had to accept it as a whole–like the world, or the person you loved.
This quote reminds me of The Dance by Garth Brooks.  “I could have missed the pain, but I’d have to missed the Dance.”
No one likes adversity.  No one likes painful experiences.  BUT… is what we gain from them worth the temporary suffering?  Are we stronger?  Better?  Wiser?  Did we find out who truly loves us and who was just along for the ride?  Did we bond with people in that experience in a way that the good times simply would not have allowed for?
Romans 8:28 says that ALL things work for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose.  Not some things.  Not just the good things.  Not just the easy things.  All things.
No matter what you are dealing with today, remember that there is value and benefit in it.  Good or bad.  If you listen, you’ll find the lesson.
