… a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,… (Ecclesiates 3:4)
The older I get, the more I realize that there are very few times in our lives that are all bad or all good. We have a hodge-podge of filthy and fabulous in most seasons. One may be more prevalent than another but there is always something good for which to be thankful.
I am, admittedly, a glass-half-full kind of girl. I figure there is always a silver lining, even if you have to dig for it. And there are some days where it takes a backhoe to find it.
Today, if you’re having a day where heavy machinery is needed to find your silver, take a minute to write down three things that make you happy right in this moment. Big or small. Trivial or serious. A good cup of coffee. Lunch with a friend. A dreaded task that you finally got over with. A medical test that came back positive. Whatever.
A wise teacher once said, you can’t be stressed and blessed at the same time.
Put on those dancing shoes, even if it causes an avalanche in your closet.
