There is something wildly cathartic about writing.  With a pen in my hand, I can find clarity where there seems to be done.  Something about the process of putting thoughts onto paper somehow makes the senseless a little more sensible.  Makes the circular a little more linear.  Brings moderation to the maelstrom.  Helps to maintain the main thing as the main thing.
